Dr. Jan Plane Student Lounge
The Dr. Jan Plane Student Lounge is a safe space for our vibrant and inclusive student community. In 2025, a gift from University of Maryland alum Brendan Iribe named our student lounge in honor of Computing Catalyst Founder Jandelyn Plane.
The Dr. Jan Plane Student Lounge is a community space on the first floor of the Brendan Iribe Center for Computing Science and Engineering (Room 1104) for students in computing to meet, study and connect. Tutoring, corporate events and socials are held in this space. The Lounge is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Computing Catalyst also hosts a virtual gathering space on Slack. Students engage on this platform to build community, ask questions, learn about programs and connect with each other.
